Atlantic City Reflects on a Year of Progress and Looks Ahead to 2025

As 2024 came to a close, Mayor Marty Small Sr. and city leaders gathered to celebrate a year of remarkable progress and lay the foundation for an even brighter 2025. During the Year-End Review news conference, the mayor, alongside department directors, highlighted the city’s major accomplishments—from achieving a fifth consecutive tax reduction to advancing multimillion-dollar redevelopment projects and enhancing public safety.

With an ambitious 124 goals set at the start of the year, Atlantic City successfully achieved 94% of them, demonstrating the administration’s strong commitment to accountability and results. Key achievements include infrastructure improvements, school-based police assignments, workforce development programs, and the expansion of community outreach initiatives.

Looking ahead, Atlantic City is gearing up for transformative projects, including the completion of renovations at the City Hall Courtyard and Pop Lloyd Stadium, major upgrades to the Atlantic City Aquarium, and the launch of Great Day Atlantic City, a new marketing initiative to showcase the city’s growth and opportunities.

As Mayor Small prepares to unveil his 2025 vision at the State of the City address on January 23, Atlantic City remains committed to fostering economic development, strengthening city services, and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors. The momentum from 2024 sets the stage for another year of progress, innovation, and optimism.
